Back when I was younger, I loved to read and write and I still do quite a bit. Especially reading, but my creative writing has taken a huge pit fall; meaning I haven't done any creative writing in awhile, which is sad because it is something I really enjoy.
I'm still brainstorming on a couple different blog ideas and I thought about maybe posting some exercises for creative writers that me and my mom (who loves to write) do.
My mom does this one exercise every morning usually around 5-6am when the rest of the family is sleeping. She gets up, makes herself some coffee, and writes a journal entry. She writes anything and EVERYTHING that is on her mind, no matter how shallow, how hateful, how inspiring or wonderful it is she writes it (or types it) down.
Not only does this help her relax but it also gets all of her excess emotions and thoughts out of the way before she starts her day.
I've never done this exercise before but I would really like to try it, and I hope that whoever (if anyone) is reading this blog that they will try it as well. I would also like feedback on how you felt afterwards and if it helped you at all.
