I Only Run If I'm Being Chased

I'm currently contemplating running a 5k this weekend, but I haven't trained all summer. I know my time will be horrible, but The Boy wants me to run with him; he says: "It's all just for fun, we'll go at an easy pace."

That's easy for him to say though. He's an athlete; I'm not.

It's not that I don't want to run, It's just I haven't had the time to train. Otherwise I definitely would do it and enjoy doing it, especially if it was a month away, giving me plenty of time to do this: Couch to 5k

I've tried it before, and it works quite well for me.
I stopped running this summer because the humidity was really rough on me and I was losing too much weight. So I took a break to give myself a little rest. At that point, I could run five miles, no problem. But now after three-four months of nothing, I'm not for sure if I'm up for three very hilly miles. I guess we will see how it goes on Saturday though ...

  1. Desiree', very nice. I very much agree with you, ma'am. Running, though hard is very beneficial. Though, once you stop running, and if you go a very long time without doing it, it is very hard to get back into. I have been in your situation before, and though you are so much better off when you run, its so much easier to just sit at home or get online or do something that is not as strenuous as running.
